Nature's Simplicity

One of the great things about living in the country is enjoying the simple things that nature provides.  Sometimes in the morning on a day off, Bentley and I enjoy looking out our picture window at the what the critters are up to.  There is nothing like sitting on the couch with a cup of coffee and watching the birds at the feeder or when they are feeling brave the squirrels.  The squirrels know that if they are seen by Paul, they don't stand a chance.

As you can tell, it hasn't been much of a winter in Maine this year.  This is early winter and we still didn't have snow.  It was fun to watch this squirrel and his routine to stealing the bird seeds.  He had it down to the letter and had no problems grabbing the seeds with one paw.  Let's just say that this squirrel only did this for a couple weeks before Paul was onto him and we'll leave it at that.

This morning, Bentley and I watched these two little birds chirping away, chasing each other from the feeder to the tree and back.  They were so cute.

It looked a little more like winter out this morning.  We got 4 inches of snow and then a couple inches of rain.  It's been such a strange winter.  One day it's in the low teens out and the next it is 40-50 degrees.  Bentley had a nice relaxing morning, enjoying the quiet.  Don't forget that in the rush of life to enjoy the nature's simplicity, it has so much to offer and it doesn't cost anything.
