Blonde Brownie

You can never go wrong with a chocolate brownie but one of my favorite brownies is a blonde one.  It goes great with my latest ice cream creation...Maple Pecan Chocolate Chip.  Blonde brownies are versatile just like fudge brownies, you can mix in your favorite nuts or baking chips, drizzle with caramel sauce, they have a light buttery flavor that pairs well with almost anything.

Blonde Brownie Recipe

Mix 1 1/3 c flour, 1/2 tsp baking soda, 1/2 tsp salt and set aside.

Cream together, butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
1 stick butter, room temperature
1/4 c Agave Nectar (this is what I use) or 1/3 c granulated sugar
1/2 c brown sugar
Add one large egg  and 1/2 tsp vanilla extract and mix until combined

Add flour mixture until thoroughly combined.  If desired, add your favorite baking chip or nuts.
Spread batter into a 9x9 square baking pan and bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes.

Serve warm with your favorite ice cream or alone with a cup of milk.

  1. I loved Blonde Brownies growing up. Can't wait to try your recipe. What advantage does the agave nectar have over sugar? Just curious. Thanks Mia!
